Happy Feet - a self direct video

Before you people out there start thinking that this is yet another self direct video along the likes of Paris Hilton's romp, it's nothing of that sort. With a little bit of help, I made my first video entitled "Happy Feet", just like the cartoon movie with the same title.

Here's how to make your own self-direct Happy Feet video:

1) Get your digital camera ready.

2) Lie on your back and get a human to rub your belly.

3) When you start kicking, tell the human to switch on the digital camera and shoot.

My Lady Boss' god-children (dogs)

Paw and Zen are siblings who are my Lady Boss' god-children. She helped rehome them to their current respective onwners. Their mother, an English cocker spaniel, came from the same shelter that I briefly stayed in. I remembered that we used to be at loggerheads with each other while at the shelter. There was once that I bit her long, furry ears because I just can't stand her....grrrrr..... It's funny that 2 of her children turned out to be god-siblings to me.

Anyway, back to Paw & Zen (their father is a mini schnauzer). They just celebrated their 1st birthday more than a month ago. Lady Boss bought a pretty Rogz collar for Zen and some of Paw's favourite treats for him.

Here are pictures of Paw (black and brown) and Zen (black) when they were about 1 month old. How they have grown!

Paw and Zen have another sister but unfortunately, Lady Boss did not manage to keep in touch with her owner. Hope she is happy.

Visit from the vet

Last weekend, I got a visit from Dr. O as I was due for my annual check up. Knowing that I am aggressive to other dogs, Lady Boss did not want to bring me to the clinic, so she got the vet to do a house call instead.

Here are some pics of me during the check up. Note that Dr. O commented that my poo was perfect! :D

Adoption: One Year On

Nothing really much been happening lately, which is why I have not been updating my diary.

My Lady Boss tells me that today is a special day - because one year ago, I came to my new home. Time flies..... and I don't even realise it. It seems like only a few months ago that I arrived. I remembered I let go a pile of poo in the garden when I stepped in. Guess what? I still have as much fun doing it today.... :D

I'm still the same old me, as spunky as before.... only thing is, I put on some weight. I blamed that on Lady Boss because she's always buying lots and lots of treats for me and cooking home-cooked food that I like.

I'm well-fed and very well-loved and all I need to do is to pretend to go to work by guarding the premises. When no one's watching, I just turned a blind eye to whoever is walking past the house. Really, I think I can't ask for more.... hee hee......

I HEAR A STORY ABOUT ONE OF OUR KIND

I heard this true story of a young ( under one year old ) white Bull Terrier name Snap, somewhere, some time in the US.

Snap was quite a character, self confident, take no shit from nobody type ( hmmm..that is our kind alright ) and was the co-owner with his boss of the farm he lived in.

One day he confronted a wild animal that intruded the farm, they said it was a wild dog. A vicious fellow that was much larger than young Snap. Snap did his job and killed the animal after a vicious fight. Snap was badly injured too.His boss kept him indoors for rest and recovery.

Before he can recover fully, there was another intruder. This time a large wolf.
On that fateful day, the large wolf was cornered by a whole pack of dogs of the farming community; all types, including big fellows like Great Danes . But none dare to make the first move, the wolf is one big manacing wild customer.

Alot of barkings , fake charges, but just a 'show down' with nothing really happening.

Suddenly , a white shadow charged past the circle of dogs. It was Snap, for he heard the disturbances. He gave a disappointed glance at these cowardly folks ( almost saying WHAT YOU GUYS ARE WAITING FOR ! )as he head straight for the wolf. He went for the throat, but his old injuries slowed him. But he still caught the wolf's jaws and he hang on there and never let go. After a brief moment that lasted an age for the young Snap, the pack of dogs finally got the guts to charge and killed the wolf.

Young Snap die of his old and new injuries. The passing of a true blue Bull Terrier.
All Bullies round the world salute you.

Note: We Bullies do not have the miss guided hatred of wolves , like human beings do. Wolves have to hunt to survive. Sometimes they have no choice but take on an occasional cow or sheep owned by humans. What do you expect them to do to live ? Be a farmer and plant potatoes?. But then they crossed paths with humans and they were labered BIG BAD WOLVES. Accused of every crime known to humans ,and probably only commited by humans, justifications were made for wolves to be slaughtered to almost extinction in the last 200 years. It was until recently that they are spared and allowed to live in some areas like Yellow Stone Park of the US and in Eastern parts of Germany. Truely , another sad tale for our related kind, some say they are actually our ancestors...

There was not a single record documented of a healthy wolf having attacked a human.

BIG BOSS SAYS AGAIN...

These should have been written some time back, but credit due must be given...

We were apprehensive when we adopted Dango. There were so much tales about dogs chewing up their owners'belongings. And Bull Terriers have such powereful jaws. So the first day she came, we had all our shoes and other things on the floor kept.

NO, Dango never destroy any of her owners' properties. No chewing of shoes, furnitures, or any other things well within her reach. In fact she is very careful not to damage anything, even during a wild indoor ball game . Any one can notice she made quite some efforts to avoided crashing into any thing. And that is respect !

Dango has great discretion. She is alert and defensive when she encounter big burly men. But she treats children ( and most females ) very differently. Many times she charged to the front gate in response to some noise disturbances, but come to a skidding brake when she discovered it is children. The whole body language changed to a friendly one. She can even distingushed the engine sound of our neighbours' cars ( so she BO CHAP )from that of strangers'( agressive barking )

Dango never take any food not meant for her. Tried and tested. All our food on the dinnig table will not be touched even when we are not around. The girl has her own strict code of conduct.

When we give her chewing treats like dried salmon skin stick, or rib bones ,or dried lamb ears( after some jumping exercise to get to them ), she will run to the door mat to chew, so as not to litter the place.

Dango never waste any food. She pick up every bit of food spilled over. She remembers the hungry years.

BUT SIGH ! Big Boss is a biker, and she has some ancient grudges with motorcycles. When ever Big Boss mount his bike, Dango will charge to attack the tires. That she never change. A mystery .

Any way , what more can one ask of a Bull Terrier ? Big Boss and Lady Boss sure are the most happy Bull Terrier owners.

Baking Boo~hoo~

My Lady Boss got an oven at a sale last month at a very good price, so today, she got down to do some baking.

It's the first time that she's baking something, so she decided on brownies (cos Auntie SG told her its the easiest to bake). After creating a mess in the kitchen for a long......... long time, this was the result.

It looks alright, and it smells alright but it doesn't taste alright. And can you believe it? Lady boss distributed the brownies to some of her friends staying nearby, including Auntie Ping our housekeeper.

Luckily I'm a dog and can't eat anything with chocolate. Otherwise I will end up as one of the guinea pigs too. Pity those humans!

Hips Don't Lie by Shakira

Shakira is one of my Lady Boss' favourite singers. It is little wonder that her songs are so well-received all over the world, with that catchy Latin beat.... the songs really wanna make you shake your bon bon, even when you are a dog!

Below is the real MTV of Hips Don't Lie, from the album Oral Fixation Vol.2

Here is the spoof, done by a fat guy. Quite hilarious!

Canine Discrimination

Just as there is racial discrimination in the human world, there is also canine discrimination in the dog world, it seems.

A few nights ago, Lady Boss brought me out to walk me in the park behind our house. Just as we were almost reaching, we saw an auntie who lives about 6 units from our house walking her old dog back. Knowing my pattern, Lady Boss "belakang pusing" and went back to the house and we stayed behind the gate in our garden to wait for the coast to clear.

Then the auntie and her old dog walked past our house. As usual when I see dogs, I turned crazy and started to bark my head off and got aggressive. Then the auntie and her old dog stopped in front of our unit and see, dunno for what? Then seeing that they're still not moving after a while, Lady Boss told the old dog's owner "Auntie, this dog (pointing to me) will fight with other dogs", hoping that they don't come any nearer and go away quickly.

Then the auntie shouted at us "You keep a bull terrier, you're going to get into trouble!"..... it seems, by her logic, our breed should be put to sleep becos we will bring trouble to our owners?

Look at this face, so cute! Why discriminate against me and my breed?

Erm..... actually i have another theory: Lady Boss called her "Auntie", which implies she is old becos my Lady Boss already not young. Maybe she felt dulan about that :D bwahahahaha

Someone tried to beat me

My Lady Boss went to her cousin's house last night for dinner and I waited for her at home in the garden. I went about doing my own things like smelling the plants, peeing in the grass, barking a little at the occasional passerby......

Then came this mad guy who took a shoe and a stick and tried to beat me from outside the gate. I dunno what his intention was but he must have been really mad..... cos i was inside my own territory and wasn't in the least bit bothering him.... well, maybe i did bark at him a little but hey, I'm a dog...... Anyway, my neighbour on the right Ryan ko-ko saw it and chased him away.

When Lady Boss heard about it, she was very angry. This morning, she told me that when she goes out next time, she'll leave me inside the house instead. Woohoo....... things didn't turn out that bad afterall.... now I will get to have the WHOLE, damn house to myself.... muahahahahahhahaha.... i can't wait!

MY NEIGHBOR'S

There are quite some dogs in my neighborhood.

Some always pass by my house , some I bump into when I bring Big Boss or Lady Boss out for a walk.

Every day there is these pair of Boxers walking by , sometimes in the morning, some times late afternoon. Never quite like them. Most of the time I did not even bother to chase them away. They have these moody face and you can't tell if they are happy or angry. But they always stop to look at me when I bump into them in the parks.

Then there is this brown Huskie fellow. Always passing by my house too. Quite a handsome guy actually,hmmm.. so I purposely kick up a fuss when ever I meet him. There are another two of the same type in the next street corner house. Always looking at me when I am near their place. Quietly, drooling. Cannot stand this type also. COME OUT AND HAVE A FIGHT !! YOU WEAKLINGS!

Another sad element is this old old Golden retriever. Always with his very old old lady owner. They walked exactly the same way , wan to die wan to die like lat. A sorry sight. And they alway stop infront of my house to look at me...what for ?

In the last house of the street before the park is this little furly dog. Aiyah, so small but always want to challenge me. So I also play play a bit and bark at this little fellow. Give people some self esteem lah, barked at by a Bull Terrier leh..got face mah. There was once his owner walked pass my house and before Big Boss can close the gate I charged and paw him. Scared the living day lights out of him. Big Boss was furious and have to apologies to him profusely( heh! heh! heh !, one charge two birds :-) ..shiss...sh !)

Just now I brought Big Boss out for a walk and this Ang Mo came jogging pass with his red hair wolf like mongrel. Quite a nice looking doggie and well behaved too. The Ang Mo did not even feel the need to have a chain on him. That , Big Boss & Lady Boss will never dare to try with me. I will run off on my own ..and see you later lor.

OK, may be next time, on other dogs , or more new doggies in town..

Some noices at front gate that need my attention,
signing off now

Loevy, come home!

.

My lady boss says her friend's dog has been lost. The worst thing is that the lost dog, Loevy, is a very timid dog..... I wonder how she is getting on. I sure hope she has got food to eat.

Loevy was lost around Tg Katong Road on 13th July 2006. She is a white, medium-sized mongrel with brown ears and was last seen wearing a blue collar. If you happened to see Loevy please call the hotline above.

Update: Loevy has been found late at night on 23 July 2006.

Dango's songs

heee heeeee.....y'know, my lady boss always sings songs about me.

You can listen to some of her songs here:
http://www.geocities.com/morsefish/index.html

The first song is called Happy Dog.
Here are the lyrics.

Dango is a happy dog, happy dog, happy dog.
Dango is a happy dog, my bull terrier.

The second song is called Little Dog.
Here are the lyrics.

Dango, Dango little dog
How you're sleeping like a log
Slowly, slowly waking up
Turned and ask for belly rub
Dango, Dango little dog
You will always be my girl

BIG BOSS SAYS

Dango is a very special Bull Terrier.

We were apprehensive when she first arrived, knowing their type's tremendous power for destruction, if they use it .

No shoes bitten, all of our properties respected by her.

Only one thing, some how she hates things on wheels. She attacks her Big Boss's motorcycle when ever it is moved.

Dango is our one dog security system at home. DUTY COMES FIRST is her code of conduct.
She never let any approaching noises, passerbys , human or animals, machines , birds left unchecked and unchallenged. She will shoot off like a rocket to attend to her duties, even when at her favourite meals, or when (seemingly) asleep.

She earned her living, this BT. TAN JIA GAO !

Of course at times, She also know when to 'GENG'. On a few occasions I caught her sleeping at the front yard, with birds strolling all round her and she BO CHAP, but the moment she saw me coming, she jumped up and started chasing the birds vigorously. Boss coming, JO KANG AH !!!That must be in her mind.

I am OK with that little slyness, she knows the birds are not a threat to the household. I consider that DOG WISDOM.

Dango also knows when to live and let live. One day a regular cat was spotted by her in the back yard flower bed. Stupid cat just laze there , ignoring her challenge and before I can stop her, Dango charged and caught the cat in her jaws. I would have thought the dumb cat sure die in pieces. But I was surprised when Dango let her go, loosening her jaws in a few releases so that the cat can run off, with a jawful warning.

Dango is barking vigorously again. Got to check it out with her, or else she may feel her vigilance unappreciated. More about this dog next time..

NEW NAME NEW LIFE

The day was 15th Oct 2005

I was released from my 'cell' at the back of my owners' house . To meet three guests. Two men and a woman.

You know our type, once it is approved by our boss, we can be friendly to other humans. The meeting was short, and I did the usual and checked out the 3 visitors by registering their individual smells . One of the two men, I had his right hand fingers in my jaws for a few seconds, he was quite shocked initially but very quickly realized I meant no harm . Passed my test.... hmm...otherwise.....

30th Oct 2005

My owners and their small son loaded me in their car and made a long journey. I was unwilling and suspect something coming my way. That day, I was given away and got a new home. 'Finger-licking good' man is my Big Boss ( lucky never bite him ..hee hee..) .

First thing I did within seconds in my new home ? I unloaded a pile of personal output right in the centre of the front yard. Might as well stake my claim early.

I was given a new name 'Dango' by Lady Boss. It is Japanese and means 'tang yuen' in Chinese. Soupy Ball

Luck changed with new name....

IT WAS NOT LIKE THIS BEFORE, MY FIRST TWO YEARS

It is difficult to explain. May be out of pain that I cannot remember all. Some how I was left in a furniture warehouse as guard dog when I was only a little girl of a few months old.

Imagine a little white shadow roaming the warehouse compound all night long. While other luckier dogs are asleep , near their loving owners. Out of boredom I checked every sound , every smell, every disturbance... What else , these were my only company. I begin to develope a high level of alertness... a good guard.

But I was depressed. Is this my destiny , my life ? Factory workers and an occasional mongrel hardly add meaning to the existance.

Sometimes I looked up to the starry sky late at night, wondering is there one all powerful, all knowing Supreme Dog up there and if He is looking out for me. Supreme Dog probbaly look like me too; a white Bullie with nice black nose like mine, and a black left ear, like mine too.

Supreme Dog just left me to my fate there .. months add to a year, than second year...a lonely guard out in some back yard, no hope, no hope to meet any body nice .

Then one day I was brought back to my owner's house , for the factory was no more. Not any better, there were quite a few other dogs there, mixed breeds, there was one very old guy they called Chi Wa Wa . Never like any one of them. Owner always out . Her little boy likes to play with me though..obvious choice correct ? ...me a Bullie Gal you know.

But it was another prison. Being a Bullie other dogs are in touble when they mess around with me. Guess what I did to two of these dumb ones... And I had to be locked up in a room most of the time to ensure the safety of other dogs.

Oh ! Supreme Dog do not forsake me !!

Yes , at last my luck changed. But next time. It is mid night now, duty calls.

Yeahhhhhh home-cooked food!!!

Just now, I saw my lady boss come back with lots of fresh meat groceries. It can only mean one thing - she's cooking home-cooked food for me tomorrow. I LOVE home-cooked food. What a break from those monotonous pellets!

Lady boss knows I love home-cooked food and always tries to cook for me when she's free. Unfortunately she's not free most of the time.

I look forward to tomorrow's meals...... (salivate)

A picture of me!

That's me. Cute or not? :)

First post

Testing how this thing works...... can u see anything?

I'm just a dog, you know? It takes me time to get used to such things.
